About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Strategy & Planning Consultant to join the Commercial Banking Strategy team. This position will support growth and strategic priorities and help translate them into operating model and execution improvements that enhance how Commercial Banking delivers for clients and employees. We are looking for an employee who is passionate about driving business and process improvements, collaborating to develop creative solutions to complex problems, and serving as trusted thought partners/strategic advisors.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Strategy and Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • Strong problem solving and analytics: comfort with synthesizing multiple inputs (market trends, financials, operating data) into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills; PowerPoint/storytelling expertise and ability to communicate with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to drive working sessions, and influence without authority.
  • Takes initiative, has high accountability, and independently tracks/meets deadlines.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in financial services, especially commercial banking (or strong interest with a demonstrated learning curve).
  • Undergraduate degree in analytic fields (e.g., Economics, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to structure complex issues and develop clear, actionable insights.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a top-tier strategy consulting firm or in-house strategy/CEO office experience with similar rigor.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with executive management within Commercial Banking and across Wells Fargo to define business strategy and develop corresponding business plans and initiative roadmaps.
  • Participate in, and may lead, the design and execution of initiatives with broad impact and visibility with senior leaders; help establish governance, workplans, milestones, and success metrics.
  • Structure and solve complex, ambiguous problems by translating leadership questions into clear hypotheses, analyses, and decision points.
  • Evaluate strategic business opportunities, investment needs, and partnership opportunities; synthesize market, competitive, and internal performance insights.
  • Create executive-ready communications (PowerPoint and written narratives), turning analysis into crisp recommendations and “so what” implications.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities, insights, and solutions; collaborate across levels to resolve issues and unblock progress.
