This Role The people doing the legal ops work—case managers, specialists, and operations teams—are the heartbeat of Finch. This role is dedicated to deeply understanding their day-to-day challenges and designing the systems, structures, and app experiences that help them perform at their highest level. You’ll think holistically about how teams operate: how they’re staffed, how information flows, how tools support them, and what gets in the way of their best work. You’ll analyze workflows, observe patterns, identify friction, and design solutions that elevate quality, speed, and employee satisfaction. From process design to UI/UX feedback to operational standards, your work shapes how legal ops teams experience Finch and how effectively they can help firms resolve cases. Your Team: Strategy & Operations S&O at Finch is the tip of the spear: we identify the most important problems and opportunities for growth, and solve them fast. We own playbooks, workflows, and experiments that move the business forward. You’ll work cross-functionally with Legal Ops, Product & Engineering, and Growth to deliver 10x improvements for our attorney partners, their clients, and our internal teams. Requirements

  • Have 3-5+ years in a problem-solving role (e.g., consulting, BizOps, Strategy, Tech)
  • Have experience building zero-to-one systems or teams
  • Love navigating ambiguity and operating with urgency
  • Can zoom out to define strategy and dive deep to execute
  • Care deeply about client experience and operational excellence

Responsibilities

  • Map and diagnose current-state workflows across legal ops roles to understand where effort is wasted or quality is at risk.
  • Design operating models and team structures that support efficiency, specialization, and sustainable workloads.
  • Work with product and design to improve Finch OS to better support daily tasks, decision-making, and quality control.
  • Create performance and quality metrics that give teams clarity on expectations and help identify opportunities for coaching and improvement.
  • Continuously refine the legal ops experience as workflows evolve, caseloads shift, and product capabilities expand.
