The Strategy & Operations Intern supports Massport’s long term business planning by assisting with data analysis, financial modeling, research, and stakeholder engagement activities. Working closely with the Strategy and Operations Leads, this role helps translate operational and financial insights into materials that inform strategic decision making across Aviation, Maritime, and Real Estate business lines. This role offers hands on exposure to organizational strategy, business analytics, and cross departmental collaboration within a complex public agency.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program at a college or university.
  • Business and financial acumen with problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with data analytics tools. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Ability to work with unstructured data sets.
  • Experience analyzing and applying strategy and policy to set objectives.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at time of application.
  • Ability to pass Massport’s pre-employment-controlled substance test and background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with collecting, organizing, and analyzing operational and financial data to support strategic projects and cost benefit assessments.
  • Build and maintain dashboards, basic financial models, and data visualizations using tools such as Excel or business intelligence platforms.
  • Conduct research on industry trends, benchmarking data, and historical performance to support forecasting, scenario modeling, and strategic recommendations.
  • Support research efforts by gathering quantitative and qualitative information on regulatory changes, industry standards, and business best practices.
  • Prepare summaries and materials that translate analytical findings into clear policy or operational recommendations.
  • Assist in preparing data driven presentations, reports, and briefing materials for leadership and cross functional teams.
  • Coordinate meetings, track action items, and support communication with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on strategic objectives.
