About The Position

Strategy Lead(s) (full-time, multiple openings) needed in Los Angeles, CA to work with a wide range of clients across industries including government, technology, professional services, education, healthcare, and others to evaluate their current real estate and facility conditions, define their goals, and develop integrated strategies for how their environment, technology, policies, and services can support these goals. Provide day-to-day direction and provide ongoing feedback to team members. Maintain the strategic direction and expectations set by Project/Strategy Director. Manage relationships with clients and other third-party service providers including real estate brokers, cost and economic consultants, and project managers. Responsible for client-facing information gathering, space programming, end-user research and production of client deliverables. Develop tools to gather and analyze quantitative and qualitative data from multiple sources to determine impact related to space planning, business goals, organizational culture, occupancy, and workplace performance to inform concepts. Organize and administer surveys, focus groups, stakeholder interviews, community engagement and vision sessions to inform facility strategies. Maintain responsibility for the quality of deliverables, strategies, and other work products. Articulate and represent scenarios (with plans, data, feedback, relevant precedents) to illustrate a range of relevant solutions including facility master plans, work styles, program, service models, and behavioral interventions based on the research. Develop scenarios that meet client's objectives and express the tradeoffs associated with each option. Design (with plans, data, relevant precedents) to illustrate a range of relevant solutions based on the research that meet the client's objectives and express the tradeoffs associated with each option. Deliver presentations to project teams and senior leadership, including City Councils and County Board of Supervisors utilizing a range of media including posters, videos, websites, as needed, to graphically visualize information and ideas and effectively use maps, charts, sketches, or 3D models to represent and communicate findings. Lead new business development initiatives including developing presentations, time estimates, schedules, and scope of work descriptions. Build relationships with our colleagues across the West Coast to advance client interests, Gensler interests, and practice area objectives.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Design, Architecture, Interior Design, or related field, plus two (2) years of design experience (non-intern, non-fellowship) with all of the following: (1) Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign); (2) Facility portfolio planning work. This must include looking across multiple facilities to identify current demand and projecting future demand; matching current facilities with market demands; and identifying gaps in the current portfolio; (3) Experience design - organizing spaces and services and designing experiences for customers, clients, and employees; (4) Research methodologies and activities, including both qualitative and quantitative data; (5) User research, design strategy, public engagement, and space programming; (6) Participating in client relationship and account management, including scope development, contract review, and business development; AND (7) Facilitating operations and project management including fee tracking and forecasting, and documentation of client meetings.
  • Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Design, Architecture, Interior Design, or related field, plus five (5) years of progressive post-bachelor's degree design experience (non-intern, non-fellowship). Two (2) years of the five (5) years of progressive post-bachelor's degree design experience (non-intern, non-fellowship) must include experience with all of the following: (1) Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign); (2) Facility portfolio planning work.
