Lead, Strategy & Operations

BreeToronto, ON

About The Position

This role serves as the connective tissue between the company's vision and its execution. The individual will be responsible for turning strategic ideas into actionable plans and ensuring efficient operations. This involves managing the OKR process, creating concise briefings for leadership, optimizing meeting structures, automating reporting, and taking ownership of projects that lack a clear owner. The position is ideal for someone who wants to build and implement solutions rather than just provide recommendations. The company is an AI-native team that heavily utilizes LLMs and agents to improve efficiency and replace manual workflows.

Requirements

  • 3+ years relevant experience in Consulting, Investment Banking, high-growth startup BizOps/Strategy, or Strategic Finance.
  • First-principles problem solver: Ability to analyze the 'why' behind processes and identify the simplest effective solutions.
  • Obsessed with data: Ability to quantify decisions and use data to drive opinions.
  • Extreme attention to detail and highly organized: Capable of constant re-prioritization, context-switching, and building effective systems.
  • Technically literate: Ability to read SQL queries, discuss technical tradeoffs with engineers, and understand technical constraints.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and speed: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment with shifting priorities and incomplete information.
  • Very high agency: Proactive in identifying and fixing problems without needing explicit direction.
  • Genuinely wants to be challenged: Driven by growth, development, and impact, with a growth mindset and receptiveness to feedback.
  • Concise, clear communicator: Ability to convey messages effectively with minimal words.
  • Low ego: Willingness to handle a variety of tasks, from strategic planning to operational fixes.

Responsibilities

  • Run the rhythm: Own OKR planning, weekly business reviews, and the quarterly cadence, ensuring team alignment on goals and priorities.
  • Be the bridge: Translate between Engineering, Growth, and Operations, unblock dependencies, and maintain focus on important priorities.
  • Fix the systems, not the symptoms: Redesign processes when issues recur and automate recurring tasks to build efficient systems.
  • Be genuinely AI-native: Leverage AI tools like LLMs and agents in daily work to replace manual workflows.
  • Write the one-pager: Distill complex problems into concise, actionable summaries for executive decision-making.
  • Take on the work without a natural home: Manage special projects, vendor negotiations, ad-hoc analysis, and post-mortems from inception to sustainable operation.
  • Live in the data: Write SQL queries to drive decisions and gain insights.
