About The Position

At Harvey, the company is transforming legal and professional services using frontier agentic AI and an enterprise-grade platform. They are scaling fast with over 1000 customers in 60+ countries and strong investor support, aiming to define a new category. The team is described as sharp, motivated, and committed, operating with intensity and taking ownership. They prioritize customer proximity and solving real problems with urgency. The company seeks individuals who thrive in ambiguity, push for excellence, and want to shape the future of work. The Operations Lead will act as a force-multiplier to Harvey's Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and be a key member of the CSO's leadership team. This role is at the intersection of company strategy, external engagement, and go-to-market, translating priorities into plans and execution. The CSO leads long-term strategy, external engagement with the legal ecosystem, and enterprise vertical expansion, specifically building relationships with the judiciary, bar associations, law schools, and policymakers regarding AI in the legal profession, and scaling enterprise vertical strategy across sectors like banking and private equity. The Operations Lead will own the operating cadence for the CSO organization, lead high-priority cross-functional initiatives, and ensure the CSO focuses on high-leverage work.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of experience in strategy and operations or Chief of Staff roles at high-growth technology companies, or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with C-level executives on strategy, planning, and cross-functional execution.
  • Proven track record leading cross-functional initiatives that span product, GTM, finance, legal, and people.
  • Ability to take ambiguous, complex problems and drive them to structured plans and clear outcomes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills — you can write crisp, executive-ready docs and communicate clearly across technical, legal, and business audiences.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; comfortable using data to inform decisions, define success metrics, and track outcomes.
  • Demonstrated AI fluency — you use AI tools in your day-to-day work, have a point of view on AI in legal and regulated industries, and can engage credibly on AI governance topics.
  • Exceptional detail-orientation and follow-through — you catch what others miss, close every loop, and follow up until things are done.
  • High bias toward ownership and action; you step in wherever needed without being asked.
  • Low-ego, team-first orientation; able to influence without formal authority and build trust quickly.
  • Comfort operating in fast-paced, high-change environments, with the judgment to know when to escalate and when to move.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting an externally facing executive in a policy, regulatory, or public-facing capacity (e.g., government affairs, public policy, or executive communications).
  • Background in AI or B2B SaaS, especially with enterprise or regulated-industry customers.
  • Exposure to board-level materials and investor communications (preparing decks, memos, talking points).
  • Experience designing and running planning and OKR cadences, including leadership offsites.

Responsibilities

  • Support the CSO’s engagement with the judiciary, bar associations, legal educators, and policymakers on AI in legal practice.
  • Prepare briefing materials, talking points, and strategic communications for high-stakes external meetings and appearances.
  • Help manage and deepen relationships with senior legal leaders at key prospects, customers, and strategic partners.
  • Partner with the CSO to define Harvey's go-to-market strategy for high-value enterprise verticals.
  • Drive the build-out of new verticals end-to-end — from strategy and positioning to hiring vertical leads and working cross-functionally to align business transformation services with Harvey’s core offerings.
  • Partner with recruiting and business leadership to define role requirements and facilitate the hiring process for vertical leads.
  • Own and continuously refine the CSO's operating cadence, including staff meetings, 1:1s, exec forums, and external engagements.
  • Prepare the CSO for key internal and external meetings with concise briefs, context, and recommended positions.
  • Act as a thought partner and sparring partner to the CSO on strategic questions, organizational design, and complex trade-offs.
  • Partner with the CSO to translate company vision into clear, actionable priorities and annual/quarterly plans.
  • Drive strategic planning processes (OKRs, annual planning, offsites), ensuring inputs are well-structured and outputs are concrete and measurable.
  • Develop clear frameworks, memos, and decision documents that help leaders make high-quality decisions quickly.
  • Serve as connective tissue between Strategy, Product, GTM, Legal, Finance, and People — ensuring alignment on priorities, dependencies, and resourcing.
  • Drive crisp, company-wide communication of strategic priorities and progress (e.g., all-hands updates, leadership readouts, board materials).
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships across the leadership team and with key external stakeholders.
  • Lead high-impact, often ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives from 0→1 — from defining the problem and success metrics to resourcing and execution.
  • Identify and unblock operational bottlenecks across the CSO's remit, working directly with functional leaders to solve issues before they escalate.
  • Stand up lightweight processes and dashboards that improve visibility and accountability without adding unnecessary overhead.
