About The Position

Develop sourcing strategy and optimize supply chain performance for Capital Equipment. Develop a multifaceted understanding of the Capex commodity landscape to forecast industry trends and gauge emerging forces. Perform supplier financial research, spend analysis and ad-hoc financial analysis for strategic procurement deals. Provide overall program management support and supply to ongoing development of processes, templates, issue procedures, and reporting. Manage global supply chain disruptions in real time with the support of an international team across China and India. Manage and support new product ramps and supplier qualifications by working closely with engineering and technical operations teams. Optimize global supply chain performance through cost and scenario analysis and benchmarking industry best practices to develop robust cost models for securing sustainable long-term deals for Apple. Develop an in-depth understanding of value-added manufacturing processes and costs, reverse logistics, and market intelligence, and apply this knowledge to influence Apple's future product roadmap and sourcing decisions. Develop a nuanced understanding of the commodity landscape to forecast industry trends and gauge emerging competitive forces. Identify changes in buyer and supplier power within commodity market and leverage competitive dynamics to Apple's advantage. Understand the tradeoffs between cost, volume, and quality to strike agreements that meet Apple's performance criteria and secure long term supply continuity. Rapidly synthesize and communicate findings to senior leaders and to proactively identify potential supply issues that can affect product strategy such as influencing design or supplier selection decisions for next generation of products. International travel required up to 30%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $154,647 - $193,800/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • Managing global supply chain disruptions in real time.
  • Managing suppliers to support new product ramps and supplier qualifications, including regular supplier business reviews based on data collected from the field and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Optimizing global supply chain performance through cost and scenario analysis and being able to perform market benchmarking and building a bottom-up cost/should cost model.
  • Developing an in-depth understanding of value-added manufacturing processes and costs, reverse logistics, and market intelligence, and applying this knowledge to influence future product roadmap and sourcing decisions.
  • Executing supply, security, integrity and commercial contracts with vendors by partnering with legal organization.
  • Identifying changes in buyer and supplier power within a core commodity market.
  • Understanding the tradeoffs between cost, volume, and quality to strike commercial agreements.
  • Synthesizing and communicating findings to senior leaders and identifying potential supply issues that can affect product strategy.
  • Providing overall program management support and contributing to ongoing development of processes, templates, escalation procedures, and reporting.
