About The Position

Ellucian is seeking an individual contributor to join its Procurement Sourcing team. The Strategic Sourcing Manager develops strong cross-functional relationships and communicates across all organizational levels to positively influence stakeholders. The role leads sourcing projects across a variety of enterprise spend categories, with a focus on continuous improvement, vendor optimization, risk mitigation, and organizational efficiency. Responsibilities span sourcing strategy, stakeholder engagement, supplier selection and relationship management, competitive bids, contract negotiation and execution, and benchmarking supplier performance.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience, including expertise in software license models (including AI-related variable costs), professional services, event planning and related services, spend analysis and benchmarking, competitive bids including RFP and RFI sourcing events, contract review and redlines, and supplier relationship management.
• Expert negotiation skills, including the ability to identify win-win solutions in complex situations, remain composed under pressure, and find solutions in difficult situations.
• Proactive stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence people at all organizational levels.
• Advanced problem-solving and quantitative skills, including the ability to distill data and articulate findings.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work independently.
• Ability to understand and challenge the status quo as appropriate, and to gain acceptance in sensitive situations without damaging relationships.
• Responsiveness to colleagues who depend on procurement, with the ability to resolve potentially conflicting objectives across functions and with external providers.
• Experience managing change; a results-driven approach and passion for operations and technical excellence.
• Well-rounded business and finance acumen and a well-developed professional presence.
• Curiosity and an ongoing desire for continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and alignment of sourcing strategies and projects to achieve business objectives.
• Manage and influence stakeholders by understanding their needs, aligning procurement and business objectives, and planning and executing effective, timely communications.
• Facilitate discussions and make recommendations about business requirements, supplier strategy, and spend category implications.
• Lead cross-functional teams in generating and implementing process improvement, spend optimization, and operational efficiency ideas.
• Negotiate and implement sourcing initiatives, competitive bids, and contracts; negotiate, create, and execute supplier contracts.
• Lead supplier relationship management processes, supplier performance reviews, and supplier development initiatives.
• Benchmark supplier performance and competitive position against external data and best practices.
• Identify, select, and qualify appropriate suppliers in relevant industries and geographical markets.
