About The Position

Twin Disc is seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead global sourcing initiatives and develop procurement strategies that support manufacturing operations worldwide. The role oversees supplier relationships, commodity management, cost-reduction initiatives, and sourcing activities across key manufacturing categories, including castings, forgings, and machined components. The manager will strengthen the global supply chain, optimize costs, and build supplier partnerships across international markets. The position calls for a collaborative leader with global sourcing experience, negotiation skills, and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5 or more years of experience in direct material sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven success managing global sourcing projects and supplier relationships.
• Experience sourcing from suppliers in India, China, or other international markets.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including metal castings, forgings, and machining operations.
• Demonstrated leadership, negotiation, and supplier development experience.
• Strategic thinking and business acumen.
• Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
• Advanced negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication across technical and business functions.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

• CPM, CPSM, APICS, or related professional certification.
• Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
• Experience supporting global manufacturing organizations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies that support company objectives and manufacturing requirements.
• Drive cost savings, supplier performance improvements, and risk mitigation efforts.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives throughout procurement and the supply chain organization.
• Support long-term supply chain resiliency and capacity planning.
• Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop suppliers across global markets.
• Build and manage strategic supplier partnerships, with a focus on India and China.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and long-term supply arrangements.
• Monitor supplier performance and lead corrective actions when required.
• Provide leadership and direction to buyers and commodity managers.
• Establish performance objectives and support professional development.
• Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the sourcing organization.
• Partner with Engineering to standardize components and reduce total cost of ownership.
• Work with Operations, Quality, Manufacturing, and Logistics teams to support production goals.
• Provide sourcing expertise for new product development and strategic business initiatives.
• Collaborate with sourcing teams across Twin Disc's international locations.
• Travel domestically and internationally to supplier locations and company facilities as needed.
