The Strategic Sourcing Manager (TPO) for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for strategic sourcing and category management with Third-Party Organizations (TPO) to enable the successful development and commercialization of Beckman Coulter's diagnostic products. This role encompasses Supplier & Category Strategy, Strategic Supplier Identification & Evaluation, Strategic Management of Critical Partners, Complex Contract Negotiation & Management, Cross-Functional Partnership & Alignment, Risk Management & Mitigation, Cost Management & Value Engineering, Supplier Performance & Development, Market Intelligence & Trend Analysis, and Compliance. This position reports to the Senior Director of Sourcing (TPO), is part of the Global Strategic Procurement Team, and will be fully remote.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in Strategic Sourcing, with a strong focus on New Product Introduction (NPI) and Third-Party Organization (TPO) management, preferably within the medical device or diagnostics industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and executing complex, high-value commercial and contractual negotiations (including IP, quality, and supply agreements).
  • Demonstrated ability to build, nurture, and manage strategic supplier relationships, acting as a Sourcing manager for critical partners.
  • Exceptional ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse internal stakeholders (R&D, Commercial, Quality, Legal, Manufacturing) in a matrix environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 35-50% (domestic and international) to engage with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required.
  • Primarily home office-based, with visits to manufacturing sites, laboratories, or cleanroom environments that may require specific personal protective equipment (PPE).

Nice To Haves

  • Managing supplier relationships across multiple international regions.
  • An MBA or professional certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management).
  • Experience working closely with commercial teams or having direct P&L responsibility, understanding the broader business impact of sourcing decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies for Third-Party Organization (TPO) suppliers, components, sub-assemblies, and finished goods supporting new product development, launch and throughout the product life cycle.
  • Act as the primary strategic interface and Sourcing Manager for designated Zone 1, Zone 2 & Zone 3 suppliers, fostering deep collaboration to drive innovation and ensure long-term value.
  • Lead and execute advanced negotiations for TPO contracts, including pricing, intellectual property, quality, and supply agreements, to secure optimal commercial terms and mitigate risk.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D, Commercial, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to integrate supplier capabilities and ensure seamless NPI project execution and market readiness.
  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify new strategic TPO partners aligned with NPI project requirements and Beckman Coulter's future technology roadmaps.
