About The Position

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Sourcing Director to join the Power & Thermal Management Team in Reno, NV. The Strategic Sourcing Director defines and implements the organization’s overall sourcing strategy and leads operations that build value-driven vendor partnerships focused on risk management, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. This is a hands-on leadership role for a sourcing professional who is skilled at building strong supplier relationships, executing strategy at the ground level, and driving Adjusted Operating Income (AOI) impact across the Power Access Control Supply Chain. The role requires direct involvement in supplier management and owns supplier commercial relationships with contract manufacturers and Tier 2/3 suppliers, leads complex negotiations, and works side-by-side with a small, high-performing team to deliver results. Reporting to the Division Vice President of Sourcing, with a strong dotted-line relationship to the Supply Chain Director, the Director of Strategic Sourcing - Contract Manufacturing will partner closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance, Product Management, and Planning teams to optimize cost, improve supplier performance, mitigate supply chain risks, and ensure continuity of supply as PAC continues to expand its global manufacturing footprint. The successful candidate will play a critical role in developing and executing sourcing strategies that support PAC’s growth objectives, strengthen supplier partnerships, and enhance operational excellence across the business.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or a related field required; MBA preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of combined experience in contract manufacturing sourcing.
Proven leadership experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain, purchasing, inventory management, and materials operations within complex manufacturing environments, delivering measurable cost, service, and operational improvements.
Demonstrated expertise in supplier negotiations, cost reduction, value engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ability to work effectively in a global environment, including required work across the Asia time zone, while building relationships and driving results across diverse cultures and regions.
Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage audiences at all organizational levels, including senior leadership, suppliers, and customers across a matrix organization.

Nice To Haves

Experience with a multi-site or multi-business environment is preferred.
Experience in EMS, “make-to-order” discrete production and assembly, and an industrial environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

Define and execute the vision, goals, and strategic objectives for the PAC Strategic Sourcing organization, leveraging the DPC Strategic Sourcing framework and LNCA standard work processes.
Lead the development and execution of supplier risk management strategies, including LNCA sourcing methodologies and Total Life Cycle Cost principles, to mitigate sole/single-source dependencies and address geopolitical supply chain risks.
Monitor market dynamics, material cost trends, and supply availability while benchmarking against industry leaders to drive supply chain excellence and ensure compliance with LNCA Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) standards.
Own annual material productivity initiatives, delivering year-over-year cost improvement targets in alignment with LNCA objectives.
Drive strategic cost reduction programs through supplier benchmarking, teardown analysis, Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE), and commercial negotiations.
Partner closely with Manufacturing and Business Unit leaders to develop and execute EMS sourcing strategies that align with product roadmaps, growth objectives, supplier capabilities, capacity requirements, and regional fulfillment strategies.
In collaboration with Operations, manage contract manufacturing commercial relationships and establish balanced business models that optimize cost, operational performance, material sourcing, inventory management, and overall supply chain effectiveness.
Lead the development and deployment of commodity strategies across the PAC and DPC Tier 2/3 supplier base, ensuring alignment with enterprise sourcing objectives.
Strengthen strategic partnerships with Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 suppliers by establishing robust Executive Business Review (EBR) processes focused on business outlooks, strategic initiatives, performance improvement opportunities, and executive-level engagement.
Lead and support the negotiation of commercial agreements that align with evolving business strategies and financial objectives.
Serve as the primary escalation point for Operations leadership on supplier performance, supply continuity, delivery issues, and critical supplier-related matters.
Drive supplier performance excellence across Quality, Delivery, Cost, Safety, and CSR metrics through effective supplier scorecards and performance management programs for EMS and Tier 2/3 suppliers.
Act as the subject matter expert for key commodity strategies across DPC, leveraging enterprise-wide spend to maximize value, support business unit objectives, and deliver sustainable competitive advantages.
