About The Position

The Strategic Sourcing Analytics Intern will support financial analysis and sourcing initiatives at The Resource Group, an end-to-end supply chain partner to healthcare organizations across the United States and a wholly owned subsidiary of Ascension. The role contributes to reporting, performance measurement, data analysis, and identification of opportunities to reduce supply expenses and realize value.

The intern will gain exposure to developing and maintaining analytical tools, dashboards, and reports using Microsoft Excel, Excel VBA, Tableau, SQL, Google Workspace, including BigQuery GCP, and other technologies. The work supports performance tracking, implementation activities, and business decision-making. The intern will also analyze financial, operational, and supplier data and contribute data-driven recommendations supporting sourcing strategies and contract decisions.

The position is part of The Resource Group's Summer 2027 internship program, beginning May 17, 2027. The role is remote, temporary, full-time, and scheduled for the day shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma equivalency or enrollment in an accredited program specific to the discipline.

• College junior year or above, such as in Supply Chain, Operations, or Business.

Responsibilities

• Support financial analysis and sourcing initiatives through reporting, performance measurement, and data analysis to identify opportunities for supply expense reduction and value realization.
• Assist with developing and maintaining analytical tools, dashboards, and reports for performance tracking, implementation activities, and business decision-making.
• Analyze financial, operational, and supplier data to identify trends, interpret results, and contribute data-driven recommendations for sourcing strategies and contract decisions.
• Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders on sourcing activities, including Requests for Proposals (RFPs), quotes, bids, and reverse auctions, through financial analysis and supplier proposal evaluation.
• Assist in developing and validating projected savings, rebates, administrative fees, and compliance tracking.
• Prepare clear, accurate, and professional presentations, reports, and project documentation.
• Contribute to process improvements, project management activities, and knowledge sharing across the team.
