About The Position

The Strategic Projects Intern provides the best possible support by assisting with all aspects of factory planning and engineering and helps to ensure that ongoing projects run smoothly. This role is ideal for students eager to gain real-world experience in factory planning and engineering processes, working on complex, multi-million dollar projects within a dynamic manufacturing environment. The internship offers exposure to all levels of the organization, aiming to build a strong resume and enhance competitiveness in the job market.

Requirements

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Strong experience with Power BI.
Interest in AI, automation, data analytics, and digital transformation within manufacturing.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams.
Eager, driven, focused, hard-working individuals ready to assist with a complex multi-million dollar project.

Responsibilities

Support planning, scheduling, and execution of brownfield construction and engineering project initiatives associated with plant transformation and new project introduction.
Track project milestones, budgets, risks, issues, and dependencies to ensure accurate project controls and reporting.
Collaborate with Engineering, Plant Planning, Production, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate technical information into actionable project plans.
Develop and maintain project schedules, dependency maps, critical-path analyses, and executive status reports.
Create and maintain advanced Excel models, Power BI dashboards, and automated reporting tools.
Analyze project, construction, and operational data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and performance gaps.
Create automated reporting workflows and leverage AI tools and data solutions to reduce manual effort and improve team efficiency.
Support cost tracking, forecasting, and resource planning activities for construction and engineering projects.
Document project requirements, meeting outcomes, action items, and lessons learned to improve project governance and knowledge management.
Assist with coordination and readiness activities for new project introduction (NPI) within an existing manufacturing environment.
Present project updates, dashboard insights, and recommendations to project teams and leadership.
Work effectively in a fast-paced environment where priorities and project requirements evolve rapidly.
