The Strategic Planner (Mid Level) will provide Action Officer level support to Strategic Information Operations at the CCMD level, participate in planning, prepare briefings, and facilitate approval of activities with senior DoW leadership. Represent designated planning activities on operational planning teams, working groups, and in other planning venues. Develop and execute these plans. The Strategic Operations Planner will be responsible for coordinating planning efforts, developing strategy, and synchronizing operational execution with CCMD staff, components, external operational elements, and Interagency partners to accomplish multi-disciplinary operations to achieve and maintain strategic advantage.

Requirements

  • Technical and consultative advisory skills in support of military and/or intelligence operations
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to develop data-driven recommendations
  • Proficiency in developing requirements documents, task planning materials, project schedules, and budgets
  • Ability to prepare and deliver high-quality technical briefings and reports to senior leadership
  • Experience developing and analyzing training materials and evaluating training program effectiveness
  • Working knowledge of desktop applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and database software packages
  • Ability to work within specialized military databases to review reports and manage data
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing white papers, reports, and briefings
  • Ability to conduct intelligence research and evaluate technical and all-source intelligence
  • Liaison and interpersonal skills to coordinate with multiple departments and customers
  • Planning, scheduling, and coordination skills for managing special activities and projects
  • Knowledge of resource management, pricing, and financial management principles
  • Ability to identify discrepancies in reports and ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Understanding of military operational planning processes and doctrine
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance as required

Responsibilities

  • Provide Action Officer level support to Strategic Information Operations at the CCMD level.
  • Participate in planning, prepare briefings, and facilitate approval of activities with senior DoW leadership.
  • Represent designated planning activities on operational planning teams, working groups, and in other planning venues.
  • Develop and execute these plans.
  • Coordinate planning efforts, develop strategy, and synchronize operational execution with CCMD staff, components, external operational elements, and Interagency partners to accomplish multi-disciplinary operations to achieve and maintain strategic advantage.
  • Provide expert advice and analytical support for strategic planning, performance management and measurement, and organizational assessment efforts.
  • Provide strategic and operational level analysis pertaining to DoW-wide strategy, futures issues and strategic foresight, policy, doctrine, decisions, trends concepts, and studies.
  • Provide staff advice and guidance regarding the establishment, management, and execution-level analysis and risk management relating to operations.
  • Support day-to-day office activities such as organizing and facilitating meetings and managing systems/taskers.
  • Analyze strategies, policies, doctrine, plans, capability gaps, and emerging trends to support decision-making related to the current and potential future threat environment.
  • Coordinate and integrate plans with supporting/supported interagency partners.
  • Review and analyze selected publications to determine congruence with or divergence from existing policy and doctrine.
  • Co-coordinate, facilitate, and execute strategic and policy interface opportunities involving strategic planning, strategy management and policy integration functions, and budgeting/effective use of strategy related resources.
  • Provide advice on prioritization of strategy related programs.
