About The Position

Eaton’s Electrical division is currently seeking a Strategic Order Manager. This position can be based in Richmond VA, Santa Ana CA, Moon Township PA, OR Raleigh NC. Relocation assistance within the US will be provided to the locations listed. As Strategic Order Manager, you will provide leadership and strategy across the business, managing the perception of DCPD and driving accountability to customer commitments. This will require influence of priorities, coordination across cross-functional teams within supply chain, engineering and operations, and a wholistic view of customer orders post order entry through final logistics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) years of related experience in supply chain or operations
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of ERP requirements and customer order processing
  • Basic understanding of bill of materials, product costing, order entry, and typical supply chain functions.
  • Ability to demonstrate problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage and develop a team.
  • Ability to present data effectively to support recommendations regarding supply/demand plan.
  • Ability to adjust work priorities to meet continuously changing schedules.
  • Maintaining sense of urgency to customers’ requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate order prioritization with Product Management, then work with the plant functional teams to execute on the orders to meet commitments.
  • Guide the scheduling, operations, and engineering teams to influence DCPD commitments and monitor schedule attainment of STS, PDU, and RPPs on behalf of the customer.
  • Act as primary point of contact in representing DCPD manufacturing with customers, sales, customer service, and project management. Disseminate questions to engineering or plant resources for timely resolution. Protect the reputation of Eaton, CPS and DCPD in all communications.
  • Maintain general awareness of product line performance vs commitments and message as appropriate to update customers or invested parties. Provide AWSD on behalf of the team if commitments are in jeopardy.
  • Facilitate cross-functional ’72 hr’ reviews with engineering team(s), customer service, supply chain, operations, and systems test to ensure accurate commitments to customers for engineer to order solutions.
  • Collaborate with drop ship scheduling to meet requested project timelines.
  • Maintain a Factory Witness Test master schedule and work with systems test, operations, and engineering to balance resources and capacity in all commitments. Ensure factory witness test readiness prior to customer visits/virtual events.
  • Host customers for world-class Factory Witness Test experiences. Capture customer feedback and coordinate resolution.
  • Maintain dashboards to monitor customer commitments on standard, configured to order, and engineered to order solutions.
  • Monitor Hyperscale & large customer accounts to understand the context of performance and appropriately balance prioritization and communications. Leverage cross-functional skills to influence order prioritization through engineering, supply chain, operations, test, and logistics.
  • Calibrate regularly with Demand Planning & Operations to understand current backlog and necessary lead-times due to material availability or general capacity.
  • Work proactively to remove roadblocks and mitigate risks after order entry through final logistics to avoid unnecessary delays for the customer.
  • Participate actively in monthly financial forecasting and SIOP demand planning.
  • Understand the primary drivers and largest projects for forecasted demand shared by the product management team in SIOP.
  • Develop strong relationships with primary points of contact in project management, product management, service, sales, engineering, and operations.
  • Develop a strong team that acts with a customer first mindset, is influential within the manufacturing org, and is capable of clear, concise, and balanced external communications to a range of audiences (especially customers).
