Strategic Operations Lead

Berry Street•New York, NY

About The Position

Berry Street is building a new model for metabolic healthcare, providing medical nutrition therapy and GLP-1 prescribing covered by insurance. The company is developing the product, operations, and clinical infrastructure to make high-quality care easier to access and use. The Strategic Operations Lead will help build systems that support the company’s next phase of growth and AI-enabled care delivery. This tech-enabled operator generalist reports directly to the GM, US, and works on the business’s highest-priority needs. The role involves identifying operational problems, developing and implementing practical solutions, and maintaining those solutions. It is a hands-on builder role: creating systems from scratch, putting them into production, and improving or operating them as needed across provider operations, patient experience, and related systems. The Lead partners with leadership, Product, and Engineering to determine how the company should scale, using operational insights to improve visibility, surface problems early, and support data-informed decisions.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in fast-paced, scrappy environments, such as early-stage startups, BizOps or Strategy & Ops, or an operator role requiring independent problem-solving.
  • Strong interest in AI, with close attention to new model releases and tooling and the ability to assess their practical value.
  • Ability to write and ship code, using Claude Code, Codex, or similar tools to build and deploy internal tools, integrations, and automations independently.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining working systems that replace manual processes.
  • Comfort with data, including SQL, BI tools such as Metabase, and working directly with APIs.
  • Comfort working amid ambiguity and limited resources, with a preference for shipping useful solutions quickly rather than waiting for a perfect setup.
  • Strong judgment and communication skills, including the ability to align clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to take projects from a vague idea through delivery without close supervision, flag problems early, drive decisions, and follow through.
  • Ability to balance speed with quality and recognize when healthcare operations require particular care.
  • A product-oriented perspective that considers the needs of people on the receiving end of workflows, challenges processes that do not make sense, and proposes better alternatives.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in digital health, provider operations, credentialing, payer enrollment, or revenue cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Turn messy, manual operational problems into automated and reliable processes across provider operations, patient experience, and related systems.
  • Build, ship, and maintain tools and workflows end to end.
  • Partner with leadership, Product, and Engineering on scaling the business, contributing recommendations grounded in operational experience.
  • Create visibility into operations so problems surface early and decisions can be made using data.
  • Take on the business’s most urgent priorities and establish durable systems rather than temporary workarounds.
  • Identify opportunities to redesign operational processes using AI and autonomous systems.
  • Align clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders and drive decisions through implementation.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health insurance, including medical, dental, and vision.
  • Unlimited dietitian and GLP-1 care.
  • Light-filled Madison Square Park office.
  • Generous PTO.
  • 401(k) with match.
  • Citi Bike membership.
  • Continuous learning opportunities.
  • Competitive salary and equity.
