Nectar Social•Palo Alto, CA
•$150,000 - $185,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Nectar is hiring its first dedicated Strategic Finance & Operations Lead to own and build the company’s revenue operations function. The role reports to the Head of Operations and takes responsibility for the revenue-side operating systems and processes, including the sales stack, forecasting, deal desk, commissions, and coordination across sales, marketing, customer success, and finance. The successful candidate will inherit existing systems and processes, operate them immediately, and improve them as the company scales, with a path to leading Revenue Operations as a team. The role covers Salesforce administration and ownership of the go-to-market technology stack; integrations between sales and finance systems; forecasting, pipeline reviews, and board-level reporting; enterprise and mid-market deal desk operations, pricing infrastructure, and contract workflows; commission and quota administration; and, initially, marketing operations such as lead routing, attribution, and campaign-to-pipeline reporting. In the first 90 days, the Lead is expected to take over the weekly forecast cadence immediately, assume Salesforce administration by the end of the quarter without disrupting the sales team, run a quarter of commission calculations under the FY27 plan, deliver an automation that reduces manual quote-to-cash work, and provide a 12-month Revenue Operations roadmap.

Requirements

  • 2–6 years of experience in hands-on revenue or sales operations at a B2B SaaS company, ideally during Series A/B scaling; or 2–3 years in management consulting, banking, or a similarly rigorous analytical environment with evidence of strong systems skills.
  • Ability to master technical tools quickly and independently; demonstrated experience may include complex models, workflow automation, SQL, or independently learning a platform under deadline pressure.
  • Experience with commission administration, deal desk, billing handoffs, or quote-to-cash processes.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • Ability to handle operational details precisely, including work that affects employee commissions and revenue recognition.
  • Structured thinking, strong execution, high ownership, and willingness to perform both operational and strategic work.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Salesforce administrator experience.
  • SQL skills and comfort using AI tools to automate work.
  • Experience with usage-based or hybrid pricing models.
  • Experience administering commission tools such as CaptivateIQ, Spiff, or QuotaPath, or building commission calculations from scratch.
  • Exposure to CPQ implementation or evaluation.
  • Familiarity with finance stacks such as Rillet or NetSuite and procurement portals such as Coupa or Ariba.
  • Prior experience as a first operations hire or on a founding team.

Responsibilities

  • Administer Salesforce, including objects, flows, validation rules, reporting, user management, and pipeline data hygiene.
  • Own the go-to-market technology stack, including evaluating, implementing, integrating, and retiring tools.
  • Build and maintain integrations between sales and finance systems to support accurate quote-to-cash data flow.
  • Run weekly forecasting, pipeline reviews, forecast rollups, and board-level reporting on bookings, pipeline coverage, and conversion.
  • Maintain and evolve the forecast model for the company’s February–January fiscal year.
  • Track funnel conversion, velocity, and drop-off from marketing through closed-won by stage and segment.
  • Run deal desk operations for enterprise and mid-market deals, including order forms, pricing approvals, discount governance, and non-standard deal structures.
  • Partner with Legal on contract workflows and ensure order forms are drafted, approved, signed, and booked correctly.
  • Maintain rate cards, pricing calculators, and pricing approval guardrails.
  • Administer AE and AI Strategist commission plans, including monthly or quarterly calculations, accruals with Finance, disputes, and plan documentation.
  • Support annual quota setting, territory design, and compensation plan iteration with sales leadership.
  • Initially own lead routing, attribution basics, and campaign-to-pipeline reporting.
  • Keep marketing and sales data connected so pipeline sources are trustworthy.
  • Take over the weekly forecast cadence and Salesforce administration during the first quarter without disrupting the sales team.
  • Run a full quarter of commission calculations under the FY27 plan and address issues that arise.
  • Deliver an automation that removes manual work from quote-to-cash.
  • Create a 12-month Revenue Operations roadmap covering what to build, buy, and retire.
