About The Position

The Strategic Mobility Manager facilitates the movement of all Group and component commands’ gear and equipment. This includes collecting, inspecting, staging, and pre-positioning all material to meet required delivery dates and priorities for all pre-positioning in preparation and receipt of squadrons/unit movements. The role also involves liaising with Airlift Mobility Command (AMC) personnel for pre-positioning of all cargo to be transported under Group Command. Responsibilities include maintaining electronic and paper-based files such as equipment maintenance, scale history jackets, inventory records, personnel and vehicle logs, personnel and equipment load manifests, and other associated documentation. The manager will also validate aircraft configurations, hazardous material packaging, and transportation requirements. Additionally, the role is responsible for the upkeep and physical condition of all Air Force pallets, nets, ancillary equipment, and all types of MILVANs, including International Shipping Units (ISU) and International Standardization Organizational (ISO) containers. This includes maintaining vehicles and yards, conducting daily rounds of yards, and ensuring containers are in the designated area.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of transportation planning and coordination functions, including hazardous materials
  • Knowledge of federal transportation regulations (49 CFR)
  • Knowledge of International Air Transportation Association (IATA) regulations
  • Knowledge of International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) regulations
  • Knowledge of Air Force Joint Manuals and Air movement information
  • Journeyman level vehicle mechanic skills for both automotive and construction equipment
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) CLASS A
  • Forklift license up to 12,000 lb. capacity
  • Tractor trailer (semi) license
  • Minimum of 5 years of ordnance shipping experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of SPECWAR team movement of Army and Air Force mobility movement programs and procedures experience
  • In-depth knowledge of DOD/Naval Physical Security, Safety and Ordnance regulations
