About The Position

The work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of USSTRATCOM. USSTRATCOM is a Combatant Command responsible for strategic deterrence, nuclear operations, and enterprise IT services essential to national security. It oversees Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3), Joint Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (JEMSO), Global Strike, and Missile Threat Assessments, working closely with other Combatant Commands, Services, and defense agencies. SCITLS will be a key component that will ensure mission success and the safety of the U.S. and its allies by providing 24/7 IT services and network support for NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS, and SAP/SAR environment. You will play a crucial role in providing support in the following areas: Deliver business and technical architectural guidance supporting mission‑critical systems across USSTRATCOM on‑prem environments. Translate operational, mission, and business requirements into secure, scalable, and resilient solution architectures. Define and document end‑to‑end system architectures for complex, distributed software solutions in on‑prem data centers and mission environments. Lead architectural design sessions, technical assessments, and solution evaluations for GOTS, COTS, and custom‑developed products and services. Ensure proposed solutions comply with performance, interoperability, security, and compliance standards across NIPRNet, SIPRNet, TSLAN, JWICS, and SAP/SAR environments. Evaluate and integrate GOTS and COTS products, and define lifecycle strategies for selection, onboarding, configuration/customization, patching/upgrades, operations/maintenance, and decommissioning/replacement. Design solutions that effectively leverage on‑prem compute, storage, and network infrastructure, including virtualization platforms and application servers. Establish and enforce technical standards, coding practices, and architectural guardrails to ensure robust, maintainable, and secure solutions. Conduct architecture reviews, design walkthroughs, and risk assessments to validate alignment with mission objectives and technical constraints. Support modernization efforts involving cloud adoption (where applicable), platform automation, containerization, and advanced architectural patterns in alignment with USSTRATCOM objectives. Assisting with financial forecasting and cost modeling for proposed and existing solution architectures, including estimating implementation, licensing, operations, and sustainment costs to inform business cases and program planning. Provide senior‑level technical leadership and mentoring to engineers, developers, and cross‑functional teams.

Requirements

  • BA/BS (additional experience may substitute).
  • 10+ years of related professional experience in architecture, engineering, or technical leadership.
  • ITIL Foundations v4/v5 Certificate and DoW 8140 Certification within 9 Months
  • Must have a current/active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI status
  • Demonstrated expertise in solution architecture, enterprise design, API‑driven integration, security, and distributed systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess, design, integrate, modernize, and sustain enterprise infrastructure supporting on-premises, hybrid, and cloud-based environments.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure design and system integration in secure DoW environments.
  • Strong communication skills for working across technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including senior government and mission leaders.
  • Ability to apply strategic thinking, critical analysis, and continuous learning in fast‑moving, mission‑focused environments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) for architectural documentation, diagrams, and presentations.
  • Ability to develop data products, metrics, dashboards, reports, and other decision-support materials.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with customers, stakeholders, and peers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities
