Here, you’ll use your skills and experience to design, develop, and produce a variety of internal communications and media that supports a tech-focused acquisition program office in the Department of the Navy (DON). As a Strategic Communications Specialist on our team, you’ll develop creative solutions to complex problems. Your self-guided yet collaborative spirit will shape and nurture relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients to advance client goals, facilitate organizational change, and encourage stakeholder acceptance of processes and initiatives. You must be adept at translating technical jargon into clean copy that is understood by all and tells a compelling story. In this role, you will leverage creative thinking and a business-oriented mindset to craft compelling messages for your client and the client's workforce, including executive comms, charters, and workforce messages. You'll draw upon your versatility as a communications professional to create messages that accurately convey information in a compelling fashion, using basic principles of storytelling as your guide. You'll draw upon your thorough knowledge of grammar, punctuation, style, and communications best practices to draft messages that are error-free from the get-go. You'll use your strategic thinking ability to anticipate your client's needs and take initiative. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a professional work environment
  • 2+ years of experience with strategic communications
  • Experience supporting the Department of the Navy (DON) or other service branch
  • Knowledge of communications industry standards, trends, and best practices and fundamental principles of storytelling
  • Ability to quickly establish relationships of trust with senior leaders, anticipate their needs, and take initiative
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice To Haves

  • 7+ years of experience in a professional work environment
  • 5+ years of experience with strategic communications
  • Experience using PowerApps, such as Power BI, to create engaging dashboards
  • Master's degree
