About The Position

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary full-time Specialist, Strategic Change Communications to join our dynamic Communications team in our Donor Engagement and Corporate Reputation division. The Communications team empowers and motivates individuals to join Canada’s Lifeline by creating engaging content, building brand affinity, and preserving confidence in Canadian Blood Services. In this role, you will support our change communications team to effectively reach employees working across the region in different roles, divisions, and environments. You will be accountable for the planning, development and production of communications strategies, products, and resources in support of organizational transformation, business goals, and high priority initiatives. This role requires both hands-on content production and the ability to provide strategic change communications advice to internal partners. This highly collaborative role will also require excellent relationship building skills. You will work closely with a broad range of organizational partners to provide communications guidance. You will safeguard Canada’s Lifeline by helping employees and stakeholders understand, adopt, and sustain change by delivering timely, relevant, and audience-centered communications throughout the change lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Post-Secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution is essential, preferably in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or Marketing.
  • 5 years of communications-related experience; minimum 3 years of other related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting organizational change initiatives across multiple audiences or geographies.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills are required.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prosci Change Management Certification would be considered an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Advise, create, and execute communications strategies at different stages of change to support the goals and objectives of Canadian Blood Services.
  • Produce creative content (written, video and visual) in alignment with brand guidelines. Content development supports internal audiences in a variety of channels.
  • Develop compelling change narratives and storytelling approaches that help employees understand the purpose, impact, and benefits of change.
  • Shape and deliver leader-led communications to support credibility, clarity, and consistency during change.
  • Support engagement opportunities that deepen employee commitment to Canada’s Lifeline.
  • Support divisional partners, including but not limited to People, Culture and Performance to enhance employee experience initiatives.
  • Safeguard our brand and reputation by working with subject matter experts to ensure high quality, brand-aligned consistent and accurate content.
