The ideal candidate is a technical sales professional with a proven track record of selling electrical components, able to navigate complex engineering specs and procurement cycles with ease. As a hunter, you will identify, pursue, and secure net-new business opportunities within targeted industries. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a relevant field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Business Development (hunter role), preferably in industrial lighting, material handling, or after-market industrial parts sales.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed aggressive sales targets, with exceptional prospecting and cold outreach skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong organizational skills to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems such as Salesforce.
  • Familiarity with sales methodologies such as solution selling, consultative selling, and the Hunter/Farmer sales methodology.
  • Knowledge of customer success best practices and account retention strategies.
  • Self-directed with a strong sense of urgency, and skilled at building constructive, respectful working relationships with clients and internal colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Execute strategic plans to identify, target, and acquire new enterprise clients requiring specialized electrical component solutions.
  • Proactively prospect and generate new leads through cold calling, technical networking, industry events, social selling, and deep market research.
  • Conduct in-depth discovery meetings with engineering, product development, and procurement teams to understand application needs, supply chain challenges, and business objectives.
  • Develop and present compelling, tailored presentations and commercial proposals that demonstrate the value, reliability, and integration advantages of SSI's electrical components.
  • Meet or exceed assigned net-new revenue and pipeline expansion targets.
  • Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for SSI's largest accounts, building deep multi-level relationships from shop floor engineers to C-suite stakeholders.
  • Continually map client product roadmaps to identify opportunities to design-in additional SSI electrical components, expanding our footprint within existing accounts.
  • Proactively manage contract renewals, pricing agreements, and blanket orders to secure predictable, long-term recurring revenue.
  • Oversee the successful implementation and onboarding of new programs for won accounts, ensuring a seamless experience from the initial sales promise to ongoing delivery.
  • Act as the internal champion for key accounts, coordinating with manufacturing, quality, and logistics teams to resolve technical or supply chain issues swiftly.
  • Maintain a deep, fluid understanding of SSI's electrical component portfolio, technical specifications, and application use-cases.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, material shortages, competitive landscapes, and regulatory shifts (e.g., RoHS, REACH compliance) to protect SSI's positioning.
  • Represent SSI at key electronics/electrical trade shows, conferences, and networking events to build brand authority and discover untapped verticals.
  • Maintain immaculate, real-time records of all accounts, sales activities, technical specifications, and pipeline stages within Salesforce.
