About The Position

As a Strategic Business Development Intern, you will complete research to uncover insights to fuel the strategy process and support the crafting of strategic plans for Saputo. You will execute qualitative and quantitative analyses that identify, validate, and refine profitable strategic and operational opportunities for Saputo. You will provide ad-hoc analyses for senior leadership to support the growth and development of the business and provide input and insights to Saputo’s Strategic Growth Plan. You will recognize current marketing trends, new technology solutions, and competitive strategies and turn them into new and innovative ideas. You will gather category, consumer, and shopper data to help identify opportunities to improve sales and/or category assortment using various databases including IRI, NCH, KWIKEE, Rapid Recall, Data Sync GS-1, Wal-Mart Retail Link, etc. You will prepare customer category reviews, conduct competitive analyses and present findings to internal stakeholders. You will design and deliver presentations based on analytic work and complete value-add projects for the category marketing team. You will develop a firm grasp of the industry including understanding the competitive landscape (pricing/promotions/marketing strategies, etc.) and identify new opportunities for high-impact research to answer organizational knowledge gaps around dealer and consumer needs. You will effectively manage projects, prioritize, and adhere to timelines.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communication, Business, or related field.
  • Enjoy the analytic side of marketing.
  • Experience (in or outside of school) drawing insights from data.
  • Ability to create an effective presentation and experience presenting.
  • Intermediate Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables, if/then, etc.).
  • Self-motivated, able to multi-task, can work independently, and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work scheduled hours and overtime as needed.
  • Display traits of reliability, honesty, respect, attention.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and positively represents and promotes Saputo at all times.
