About The Position

Within the Office of Strategy and innovation (OSI), the goal of the MA5 is to serve as consultant to management related to health and status of implementing agency strategic initiatives, utilizing performance management and creating innovative ways to update and improve operations in support of its goals and mission to improve public safety by positively changing lives. In this role, you will partner with various OSI team members to accomplish a wide array of projects including analyzing management problems, providing consultation, developing strategies, conducting research, formulating recommendations, and coordinating implementation of strategic and long- range planning activities. You will also develop and implement processes, dashboards, and tools for monitoring, controlling and measuring outcomes of portfolio project management activities. The MA5 is an excellent opportunity to utilize collaboration and communication skills to explain to stakeholders the linkage and reason for the DOC Strategic Plan, performance reviews, and Project Management by using organizational change management and project management tools. Requirements

  • Four years’ experience conducting research, analyzing policies, laws, rules, regulations or data, or comparable combination of graduate education and experience.
  • A minimum of four years’ experience in one or more, or a combination of: Project management, Performance measurement, Business planning, Process improvement
  • Preparing effective and accurate narrative, statistical and graphical reports.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to develop work plans, proposals, executive briefings and training materials.
  • Proficiency in using schedules, timelines and other visual tools to communicate status updates, monitor progress and keep work on track
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and synthesize complex information, identify trends and key themes, draw accurate conclusions, and present findings through charts, graphics, and actionable recommendations
  • Ability to identify opportunities to improve and streamline work processes beyond the specific assignment, exercising sound judgment, taking calculated risks, and adapt effectively to changing priorities and challenges
  • Ability to monitor and evaluate work plans while professionally collaborating with stakeholders to support successful execution and continuous improvement
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently produce accurate, thorough, and timely work products
  • Intermediate skill level with Microsoft 365 Suite, Power Apps. Power Automate, Visio and SharePoint

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field
  • Knowledge of DOC programs, policies and procedures including performance goals and objectives.
  • Advanced skill level with Microsoft 365 Suite, Power Apps, Power Automate, Visio and SharePoint

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the development, coordination and alignment of business plans to the agency strategic plan which could include: Connecting similar activities and efforts between units and divisions
  • Identifying problems, analyze and evaluate deficiencies, and provide management with alternatives and recommended courses of action.
  • Performing proactive intervention and/or providing solutions having statewide or precedent setting impact
  • Making recommendations regarding highly complex, unprecedented issues involving organizational change, process improvement and policy development; or issues involving a broad scope
  • Developing and sustaining infrastructure for Quarterly Results Review which could look like: Collaborating with Strategy team to compile and develop strategic plan annual performance report
  • Creating and maintaining educational and operational SharePoint sites
  • Assisting with the development and maintenance of Power Platform solutions
  • Developing and implementing easy to understand reports and visual management to identify current state and targets
