POSITION SUMMARY Since Axiom Space is a very complex work environment, we are looking for a resilient, high-energy Strategic Analyst, BD & Strategic Partnerships serves as the analytical engine of the BD and Strategic Partnerships team. This role is designed to enable industry-leading decision quality through quantitative data-backed insights, logical reasoning, financial evaluation, and the connection of detail-oriented specificity to high-level strategic reasoning. Day to day operations include producing market intelligence, financial models, competitive assessments, and business cases that inform Axiom’s capture decisions, partnership strategies, and investment/opportunity evaluation. This role will report to Axiom’s Director of BD & Strategic Partnerships.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Business, Economics, Engineering, Science or relevant field
  • 5+ years in commercial analysis, market research, corporate development, management consulting, or investment analysis, preferably in the aerospace & defense industry or complex B2B/B2G environments
  • Analytical mindset, skill, initiative, creative problem solving, informal leadership, and the ability to work across stakeholders/teams will be weighed more heavily than accreditation
  • Strong financial modeling and decision analysis skills, including scenario analysis, pricing models, and sensitivity analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex technical and market information into clear, concise recommendations for senior leadership
  • Proficiency with standard tools and systems for CRM, data visualization, financial modeling, and business intelligence
  • Experience in international business development, capture, proposal, partner management, or financial/technical analysis is strongly desired
  • Familiarity with government, the commercial space ecosystem, New Space, LEO infrastructure, and microgravity markets is strongly desired
  • Track record of making things happen in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
  • Uses good judgement to problem-solve proactively, positively impacting hard challenges

  • This position may require access to export controlled technical data or technology subject to NASA regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). In accordance with U.S. export control laws, final candidates may be required to undergo additional export control screening to determine eligibility for access. Meeting these requirements is a condition of employment
  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones
  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time)
  • May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time)

  • MBA, CFA, relevant graduate degree, or similar certification of analytical capability is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research and competitive landscape analysis for target sectors, geographies, and customer segments relevant to Axiom’s capture and partnership pipeline
  • Build and maintain financial models for opportunity evaluation, include revenue and cost forecasting, cash flow modeling, pricing analysis, financial metric assessment (ROI, IRR, NPV, etc.) of prospective deals, partnerships, and opportunities
  • Develop opportunity theses and business cases for new market entry, partnership structures, cost/revenue-sharing arrangements, and commercial pursuits to support the phased capture management process
  • Produce briefing materials, market intelligence summaries, and data-driven recommendations for leadership decision-making
  • Track and analyze pipeline metrics, win/loss trends, and deal economics to identify patterns and improve pursuit quality
  • Support due diligence efforts on prospective partners, customers, and market opportunities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
