About The Position

The Strategic Accounts Manager plays a vital role in cultivating and maintaining strong business relationships within Strategic Accounts. In collaboration with the VP of Strategic Sales, Strategic Account Inside Sales Manager, and Strategic Directors, they focus on driving top-line sales growth while ensuring strong gross profit margins to meet individual and departmental goals. Success in this role requires exceptional communication skills, strategic call planning, and the ability to leverage customer interactions effectively. The Strategic Accounts Manager must develop and execute impactful programs and initiatives while maintaining accurate documentation in business systems to uphold the highest standards of sales, service, and product delivery. Strategic Accounts include organizations with multiple locations that require national sales coverage, sales spend volume or potential spend of $1 million or more, and a willingness to engage in innovative strategic solutions beyond traditional and pricing models.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma required, preferably in business or marketing.
  • 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in business-to-business (B2B) sales.
  • Proven sales record with strong business acumen.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and win-win negotiation skills.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects within designated timelines.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all company products, programs, and key competitive offerings.
  • Ability to build and foster strong interdepartmental relationships.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey information.
  • Highly proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Advanced ability to navigate both company websites efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary internal contact for all Strategic Account Communications.
  • Act as the main point of escalation for daily Strategic Account activities.
  • Attend and actively participate in Strategic Account planning meetings.
  • Collaborate with Sales Leadership to develop, communicate, and execute customer-specific initiatives and programs that drive growth within Strategic Accounts.
  • Proactively communicate company initiatives, marketing strategies, and promotional activities.
  • Deliver compelling presentations on brand strategy, inventory planning, new product launches, and product knowledge.
  • Manage and negotiate pricing and quotes to effectively drive sales growth while optimizing profit margins.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key Strategic Account contacts to identify new program and decoration opportunities.
  • Oversee all aspects of Strategic Account programs to ensure effective merchandising, inventory management, and order execution.
  • Implement a structured call process and consistently document all interactions in CRM systems.
  • Provide comprehensive feedback to managers on project outcomes, including customer responses, challenges, solutions, marketing opportunities, and process improvement recommendations.
  • Participate in Strategic Account tradeshows, account events, and end-user presentations as needed.
