About The Position

Fastmarkets is seeking a Strategic Account Executive to drive new business acquisition within the Metals markets in the Americas. This role involves a metrics-driven, high-activity approach to proactively hunt, prospect, and close strategic subscription deals, capitalizing on both inbound demand and outbound efforts. Success is measured monthly and quarterly, with an expectation of exceeding targets. The role requires owning the full sales cycle, building a robust pipeline with a focus on larger opportunities, and converting marketing-generated leads efficiently. It also involves proactive outbound prospecting, managing multiple stakeholders across various departments within client organizations, and leveraging industry events to build relationships and accelerate revenue. A disciplined approach to sales processes, including accurate forecasting and pipeline hygiene in Salesforce, is essential. The role encourages the use of AI and modern sales tools to enhance effectiveness while maintaining the importance of direct human engagement.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years in a full-cycle (360) B2B sales role, owning both opening and closing.
  • Proven success winning net new logos via cold outbound prospecting and converting inbound/marketing-generated leads.
  • Track record closing subscription / data / SaaS / information services deals in the $20K–$200K AOV range.
  • Comfortable running multi-stakeholder sales cycles across procurement, commodity specialists, technical users, and commercial leadership.
  • Evidence of operating in a metrics-led environment — activity, conversion, pipeline coverage, and forecast accuracy.
  • Hunter mentality with the confidence to pick up the phone, create conversations, and move fast — balanced with intelligent use of AI and sales tools.
  • Consultative selling and discovery skills; ability to link customer workflows to value, outcomes, and ROI.
  • Strong pipeline management and forecasting; concise written and verbal communication.
  • Competitive drive and resilience; thrives in a high-performance team environment and raises standards.
  • Comfortable attending industry events, networking with senior stakeholders, and converting event activity into pipeline and closed revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full 360° sales cycle from outbound prospecting to close, consistently delivering against monthly and quarterly targets for new logo acquisition.
  • Build and maintain robust pipeline coverage, with a bias toward larger, strategic opportunities and increasing average deal size over time.
  • Rapidly engage, qualify, and progress marketing-generated leads with disciplined discovery and value-led qualification.
  • Proactively target priority accounts through cold outreach, high-quality calling, and multi-channel sequencing to create new conversations and open doors.
  • Sell subscriptions into procurement and commodity specialists, plus commercial and executive leadership; map buying groups and drive consensus.
  • Attend, network, and convert value from Fastmarkets events across the Americas to build senior relationships and accelerate pipeline and revenue.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline hygiene, and structured execution in Salesforce; operate to clear activity, conversion, and coverage metrics.
  • Use AI and modern sales tools to improve effectiveness and efficiency, while balancing this with direct human engagement.
