About The Position

Wakefield Moving & Storage, now part of Tobin Scientific, provides commercial moving, storage, logistics, and installation services for higher education, healthcare, laboratories, and commercial sectors. The company also provides secure records management, document storage, and certified shredding through its ARMS division. The Straight Truck Driver (described in the posting as a Box Truck Driver) supports the safe and timely transportation of commercial goods and equipment. The role includes delivery, removal, and assembly of items such as office furniture, laboratory equipment, school furniture, and household goods. The driver is expected to provide a professional customer experience while working safely, dependably, and accurately in a fast-paced environment where communication and on-time performance are important.

Requirements

Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull 20 to 80+ pounds of product repetitively during each shift.
Comfort driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops.

Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently operate a 26-foot box truck while transporting cargo, crew, and high-value materials.
Deliver products safely, accurately, and on schedule while providing a high level of customer service.
Load, unload, secure, and handle cargo appropriately to prevent damage and maintain product integrity.
Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain required documentation.
Maintain accurate delivery records, including mileage, fuel usage, delivery documentation, and other operational records.
Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, warehouse personnel, and internal teams about schedules, deliveries, delays, and service issues.
Follow applicable federal, state, and local transportation regulations and company safety and operating procedures.
Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers and business partners.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-maintained vehicle.
Identify and proactively communicate potential delivery, equipment, or customer-service issues.
Follow established routes, schedules, and delivery procedures to support operational efficiency.
Deliver, remove, and assemble commercial goods and equipment.
