Requirements

  • 3 Years progressive supervisory experience in retail or large stores facility.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Valid Class C Drivers’ License
  • Knowledge of record-keeping procedures.
  • Ability to maintain an inventory of materials, supplies and equipment.
  • Ability to conduct studies pertaining to stock use, inventory mix and price structure.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the supervision of staff employed at the three canteens. This includes recruitment, setting appropriate job standards, performance monitoring, and all personnel issues related to three canteens.
  • Responsible for the supervision of retail sales operations which include counter service, filling resident orders for delivery to the residential units, filling and invoicing for orders place by the hospital's units and departments. Scheduling delivery of merchandise as necessary. Responsible for completion of overage/shortage report. Responsible for conducting study to determine trends in stock use, inventory and prices.
  • Responsible for the procurement of inventory which includes supervising the solicitation of annual bids from vendors, the comparison of bid quotes, and of the lowest bidder, initiating purchase orders, receipt and documentation of receipt of merchandise, recording receipt into the Canteen Management System (CAMPS), determining and maintaining adequate inventory levels, and revising price lists regularly to ensure maximum profitability while ensuring that cost savings are passed on to the consumer.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized operation which includes proper space utilization techniques, development and implementation of safety standards, and cleanliness of warehouse and customer service areas. Responsible for Monthly Fire Inspections.
  • Contract Manager for all vending machine contracts for Florida State Hospital. Initiate all bids. Develop and implement an efficient and effective system for collection, tracking, reconciling and monitoring all vending transactions to include accuracy of commission payments, collect and analyze sales and commissions, calculate all applicable taxes to include local, state, and revenue taxes. Compute taxes on all items loaded into each machine. Verify, track and report all discrepancies to each Vending Manager for corrective action. Track all problems and complaints with machines and place calls to the companies for completion within two working days. Prepare spreadsheet and graph for Total Quality Management, Performance Review and report at monthly Performance Review Meeting.
  • Responsible for development and implementation of policies and internal controls which safeguard department property, as well as safeguard merchandise and cash collections. Track, reconcile and analyze daily refunds with the Canteen Management System to ensure all refunds are handled appropriately. Record all discrepancies, pull invoices, record totals and indicate reasons on the Invoice File Form. Initiate daily inventory counts and reconcile system. Reconcile all quantities. Prepare daily deposit reconcile forms. Prepare and reconcile daily inventory invoice files. Reconcile all negative balances to the daily cashier transactions. Monitor, adjust, and account for all transactions through the Canteen Management System. Complete daily negative balance forms and provide corrective action plans.
  • This position requires lifting, pulling, and squatting.
