About The Position

As a Storeroom Inventory Manager at Wheatland Tube Zekelman Industries , you will play a key role in overseeing storeroom operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. This position is responsible for optimizing inventory processes, maintaining system integrity, and supporting procurement and plant operations through effective inventory management. You will collaborate closely with storeroom attendants, purchasing teams, and plant leadership to maintain accurate inventory levels, improve procurement efficiency, and support operational goals. This is a full-time, onsite role located in Wheatland, PA. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is focused on continuous process improvement.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in inventory management, storeroom operations, or a related field.
  • Post-secondary degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience working with SAP and MRP systems preferred.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across all levels of the organization.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • High level of integrity with the ability to maintain confidentiality and follow security policies.
  • Willingness to travel to plant locations as needed, including occasional overnight travel.
  • Ability to maintain regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, guide, and coach storeroom attendants to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Collaborate with purchasing teams to correct material master data and ensure accuracy within MRP and SAP systems.
  • Utilize MRP and SAP reporting to identify required stock orders and communicate needs regularly.
  • Review inventory reports to confirm timely ordering and availability of required materials.
  • Establish and improve procurement processes to increase efficiency and reduce one-off purchase orders.
  • Adjust minimum and maximum inventory levels to optimize stock levels and ordering cadence.
  • Partner with plant leadership to implement solutions that support inventory and operational goals.
  • Oversee stockroom inventory value and implement strategies to reduce excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Ensure materials remain usable during equipment changes by coordinating with vendors and internal teams.
  • Approve and process cycle count adjustments in SAP while ensuring proper controls are followed.
  • Monitor inventory-related expenses and communicate budget concerns to management.
  • Lead implementation of inventory technologies such as scanning, barcoding, and SAP enhancements.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Oversee cycle count programs to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with master data teams to maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records.
  • Manage repair processes for inventory items, including requisition creation and tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
