About The Position

The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture.

We are searching for an organized and detail-oriented storekeeper to assist in managing all of the daily operations of the Rock Springs plant storerooms in a fast-paced working environment. In this position, you’ll play a key role in the proper care and maintenance of plant stock, including issuing items to authorized personnel, shipping/receiving, recordkeeping, and managing inventory levels.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience in storekeeping, inventory control, or recordkeeping
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Competencies in data entry, analysis, and management
• Keen attention to detail and ability to effectively manage time
• Ability to safely and legally operate a forklift and a manual vehicle
• Skills to operate common office equipment
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to acquire and maintain forklift certification
• Physical ability to frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 lbs as well as climb stairs regularly

Responsibilities

• Issue stock and non-stock materials and tools from inventory
• Initiate system receipts for exception items as directed by procurement
• Maintain receipts, records, and withdrawals of the stockroom
• Receive, unload, and shelve supplies
• Perform other stock-related duties, including returning, packing, and labeling supplies
• Continually count on-hand inventory and reconcile computer listing with on -hand stock
• Deliver ordered items to main office, lab, and occasional town runs
• Ensure adequate record keeping and manage all documentation to confirm proper stock levels and maintain inventory control
• Assist with other duties as directed by lead storehouse person
