About The Position
The Storekeeper Supervisor maintains an effective and efficient institutional warehouse operation and ensures adequate inventory of approved items in compliance with Department of Corrections and institutional policies and procedures. The position is responsible for daily receipt and delivery of warehouse and commissary items, maintaining a perpetual inventory system, and assisting with physical inventories. It also maintains warehouse safety, security, and sanitation; coordinates surplus and excess property for the facility; and ensures items received, stocked, and distributed are properly inspected and accurately documented. The supervisor trains, supervises, and monitors staff and inmate workers.
Requirements
- Demonstrated skill in inventory control, storage, receiving, and issuing goods.
- Skill in records management and preparing workplace reports.
- Ability to read and comprehend workplace policies and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Skill in using Microsoft Office programs and Outlook.
Nice To Haves
- Extensive warehouse operation experience.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Forklift operator certification desired.
- Commercial Driver’s License.
- Previous experience handling hazardous materials.
