About The Position

Under general supervision, receives, stores, and distributes supplies, materials, and equipment. Leads and trains subordinate personnel.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two years related work experience.
  • General knowledge of the procedures and practices of issuing and storing supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Skill in operating warehouse material handling equipment.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematics.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to provide guidance and instruction to others.
  • Ability to operate computers and other standard office equipment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships.
  • Ability to perform extensive standing, walking, and climbing.
  • Ability to lift, transport and stock assigned supplies and materials.
  • Ability to wear and work in personal protective equipment.
  • Must have or obtain a driver’s license valid in Maryland with less than 5 points.
  • Must have or obtain a Prince George’s County Maryland Health Department Food Service Manager Certification and TIPS (or equivalent certification). All must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained throughout employment.
  • Must pass a DOT physical and Drug Test arranged by the University and be able to maintain the DOT physical certification and pass random drug testing throughout employment to drive a truck.

Nice To Haves

  • ServSafe and TIPS certification preferred
  • Experience working in a large commercial food service operation.
  • Must be able to move perishable food, beverages and supplies including beer kegs weighing up to 180 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to work a variable schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays, based on event scheduling with notice of as little as 4 days, due to TV scheduling.
  • Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, inspects, and verifies shipments for compliance with delivery documents and purchase order specifications. Processes receiving documents. Tags, lables, etches, or marks for identification all supplies, materials, and equipment received.
  • Leads daily operations. Determines work priorities, plans, schedules, assigns, and reviews work.
  • Fills store requisitions for issuing supplies, materials, and equipment. Routes and/or delivers supplies, materials, and equipment to designated locations.
  • Ensures inventory levels by conducting physical inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Prepares routine logs, forms, or tally sheets of daily operations.
  • Implements procedures for maintaining departmental storage facilities in an orderly manner.
