About The Position

Under direct supervision, routinely receives, stores, and distributes supplies, materials, and equipment. This role involves filling store requisitions, receiving and inspecting shipments, and ensuring inventory levels through physical counts. The Storekeeper I is also responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
One year related work experience.
Working knowledge of the procedures and practices of issuing and storing supplies, materials, and equipment.
Ability to perform basic mathematics.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to follow directions.
Ability to operate warehouse material handling equipment.
Ability to operate computers and other standard office equipment.
Ability to perform extensive standing, walking, and climbing.
Ability to lift, transport and stock assigned supplies and materials.
Ability to wear and work in personal protective equipment.
A non-commercial Class C or Commercial Class B or equivalent driver's license valid in the State of Maryland may be required.
If required to obtain a Commercial Driver's License, employees will be subjected to drug and alcohol education and testing as required under Federal Highway Administration and the State of Maryland regulations.

Responsibilities

Fills store requisitions for issuing supplies, materials, and equipment.
Receives and inspects shipments for compliance with delivery documents and purchase order specifications.
Processes receiving documents and tags, labels, etches, or marks all received supplies, materials, and equipment for identification.
Routes and/or delivers supplies, materials, and equipment to designated locations.
Conducts physical inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment to ensure inventory levels.
Keeps work area in a clean and orderly manner.
