About The Position

As a Cashier, the Store Team Member provides fast, friendly customer service and helps create a positive customer experience. The role processes transactions, answers questions, and may also include assignments as a sales associate or merchandiser/stock associate. Internally, the position is referred to as Front End Team Member and reports to the store management team. The role includes training in wine, spirits, and beer, as well as maintaining product knowledge and awareness of advertisements, promotions, and loyalty programs. Team members maintain store safety and cleanliness and follow applicable laws and regulations related to alcohol sales. The position may involve working evenings and weekends and requires physical activity including standing for extended periods, lifting, and climbing ladders. The posting describes a regular position; if a posting is coded as seasonal, it is short term, lasting no longer than six months, with the option to apply for a non-seasonal role.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Passion for best-in-class customer service and a team-player mindset.
One to three years of work experience; one or more years of retail experience preferred.
Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.
Ability to work a flexible schedule as business requires, including evenings and weekends.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Ability to walk, bend repeatedly, and remain on feet for 8–10 hours per day.
Ability to safely lift, load, and handle cases and pallets; climb ladders; and lift 50 pounds overhead repeatedly.
May be exposed to various outdoor weather conditions during the workday.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least one year of experience in a retail setting.

Responsibilities

Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, including verifying identification, handling payments, answering inquiries, promoting the loyalty program, and bagging products.
Provide exceptional, personalized service by greeting customers, building relationships, and informing them about products and services.
Participate in wine, spirits, and beer training to build product knowledge.
Maintain knowledge of advertisements, promotions, and loyalty programs.
Maintain safety and cleanliness standards throughout the store.
Follow applicable laws and regulations related to alcohol sales and help maintain a safe, compliant store environment.
Complete cross-functional responsibilities and other assigned duties.
