About The Position

Join The Salvation Army as a Retail Sales Associate and help create a welcoming shopping experience for customers and donors. The role combines customer service, retail operations, and mission-driven work, transforming donations into resources that support the organization's community programs. The position is part-time, up to 28 hours per week, with a stated shift of 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., including Saturday, in Lake Zurich. Duties may also include one or more of bank running, pricing, or cross-training in other departments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or currently pursuing a high school diploma.
• Strong English communication skills for customer and team interactions.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new systems.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings or nights, holidays, and weekends.
• Professional appearance and adherence to the dress code.
• Reliable and team-oriented mindset.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to move throughout the store.
• Physical ability to handle merchandise and maintain store appearance.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and offer assistance to provide exceptional customer service.
• Process sales accurately using the Point of Sale system, including opening, closing, and balancing.
• Clean, organize, and restock the store.
• Process and display new merchandise to help meet daily production goals.
• Contribute to a positive shopping environment.
• Perform one or more of the following duties: bank running, pricing, or cross-training in other departments.
