About The Position

GENERAL PURPOSE: Responsible for developing store space plans used to purchase, bid, and execute projects using prototype directives. A store project includes new stores, remodels, rollouts and special projects, as assigned. A Store Planner is expected to interpret data to optimize layouts which fit the needs of business partners, store operational requirements, and applicable building codes. Designing stores may include travel to execute site surveys and walk throughs. The base salary range for this role is $70,310 – $101,400. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

Requirements

  • 4-year accredited degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design, or related field; or equivalent experience in space planning
  • Highly proficient in AutoCAD
  • Proficient in Excel
  • 3+ years of practical space planning experience
  • Ability to utilize data to drive space planning decisions
  • Gather, summarize, prepare and analyze store specific unit data
  • Attention to detail to create error free documents
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work on multiple projects at once
  • Willingness to learn new skills to meet production goals of the department
  • Comfort in dealing with ambiguity and feedback
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams

Responsibilities

  • Creation of all contract documents needed to execute a store project. These documents include fixture plans, floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, merchandise plans, and any other documents that helps to describe the intent of our store design. A store project includes new stores, remodels, refresh, special projects, rollouts and other ad-hoc projects.
  • Evaluation of proposed retail environments for operational compliance to include but not limited to stock and merchandise handling, loss prevention and store operations
  • Maintain current, accurate and up-to-date project files. This applies to all drawings and correspondence
  • Work in conjunction with Property Development and other Ross departments through all phases of the project from inception to completion
  • Visit sites as required, to ascertain all field conditions that will impact the architectural design phase
  • Conducts field inspections of interior finishes and fixtures as required, to verify compliance to Ross retail specifications
  • Schedule plan reviews and present proposed plans for approval, as required
  • Responsible for keeping current on computer network system and related peripherals
  • Other duties as assigned
