About The Position

The Store Manager oversees the daily operations of one or more self-storage locations with limited direct supervision. The role ensures high cleanliness standards, financial accuracy through effective reporting and controls, and consistent operational excellence. Store Managers build customer relationships through in-person and phone interactions, present a structured sales process, and manage customer accounts. This position works across multiple stores in the district. The office closes at 6 p.m.; standard operating hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The location is closed on Sundays.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of customer-facing work experience.
• A current valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle for daily bank deposits and travel to other sites as needed, except in New York City and Brooklyn.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships by identifying storage needs and providing tailored solutions.
• Maximize sales objectives through unit rentals, unit insurance, and moving supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness through ongoing site maintenance, including the office, storage buildings, and surrounding areas.
• Perform daily site safety inspections, including lock checks.
• Address and resolve customer concerns related to billing, security, auctions, and proper site usage.
• Handle cash transactions, balance receipts, follow up on delinquent payments, process customer payments, and complete daily bank deposits.
• Complete administrative tasks, including maintaining auction files, following up on delinquent accounts, monitoring store budgets, and preparing and delivering bank deposits.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with Extra Space employees to support the company culture.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
