About The Position

The Store Manager oversees the daily operations of one or more self-storage locations with limited direct supervision. The role ensures facilities meet cleanliness standards, maintains financial accuracy through reporting and controls, and delivers operational excellence. Store Managers build customer relationships through in-person and phone interactions, use a structured sales process, and manage customer accounts.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of customer-facing work experience.
• A current valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle for daily bank deposits and travel to other sites as needed, except in New York City and Brooklyn.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to perform indoor and outdoor responsibilities, including standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, sitting, and lifting.
• Ability to regularly lift or move items up to 35 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Leadership experience is preferred but not required.
• Sales experience is preferred.
• College education is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships by identifying storage needs and providing tailored solutions.
• Maximize sales objectives through unit rentals, unit insurance, and moving supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness through ongoing site maintenance, including the office, storage buildings, and surrounding areas.
• Perform daily site safety inspections, including lock checks.
• Address and resolve customer concerns related to billing, security, auctions, and proper site usage.
• Handle cash transactions, balance receipts, follow up on delinquent payments, process customer payments, and complete daily bank deposits.
• Perform routine administrative tasks, including maintaining auction files, following up on delinquent accounts, monitoring store budgets, and preparing and delivering bank deposits.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with Extra Space employees to support the company culture.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
