About The Position

Goodwill Greater New York and Northern New Jersey (GWNYNJ) is seeking a passionate and entrepreneurial Store Manager for their Bound Brook location. This role involves driving sales growth, embedding the brand, providing exceptional customer service, and cultivating high-performing teams. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a retail store management position.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite and ability to adapt to internal applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to push/pull up to 50lbs.
  • Must have open availability and be able to work holidays.
  • Proven ability to drive and exceed individual and store results.
  • Proven ability to build lasting relationships with colleagues.
  • Ability to adapt to and engage with internal and external customers.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with customers, sales leadership team and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team.
  • Ability to receive feedback and act when appropriate.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs which include evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze sales reports and data to create business strategies.
  • Set and hold the team accountable for KPI goals (ATV, UPT, and conversion).
  • Coach and motivate the team to meet goals and expectations.
  • Develop associates' sales techniques and product knowledge.
  • Demonstrate sales leadership on the selling floor.
  • Collaborate with management and Marketing to identify sales-driving opportunities.
  • Drive brand loyalty by coaching the sales team on the Rewards program and Mission.
  • Ensure all associates provide excellent customer service.
  • Cultivate customer relationships by engaging repeat clientele.
  • Resolve customer complaints quickly and efficiently.
  • Manage store P&L by controlling expenses and labor costs.
  • Ensure cash control procedures are followed.
  • Schedule staff effectively to maintain coverage and process donations while adhering to payroll budgets.
  • Protect store assets and inventory, reporting Loss Prevention concerns.
  • Ensure accuracy of product assessment, boutique selection, and pricing.
  • Maximize donation production and product flow to the sales floor.
  • Implement and maintain merchandising directives and strategies.
  • Partner to ensure appropriate assortment and inventory levels.
  • Identify and communicate product concerns.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized selling floor with correct visual presentation.
  • Ensure window displays and visual areas reflect current visual direction.
  • Recruit, train, and develop teams.
  • Assess employee proficiency and provide timely training.
  • Evaluate team performance and provide consistent feedback.
  • Resolve employee relations issues effectively, partnering with People & Culture when needed.
