Requirements

  • Experience in retail store leadership
  • Understanding of local market and requirements relevant to new store openings
  • Financial management experience with success in driving top-line sales, interpreting reporting data, managing payroll budgets, and controlling expenses
  • Exceptional leadership capabilities with a history of attracting, developing, motivating, and retaining talent
  • Demonstrated understanding of service excellence in a consumer environment

Responsibilities

  • Driving revenue and exceeding targets by reviewing and monitoring daily, weekly, and monthly business and people results, and creating plans to achieve targets.
  • Developing a culture of performance, cost awareness, and accountability within the team, including business acumen to analyze results and implement improvement plans.
  • Managing store spend and seeking opportunities to minimize costs.
  • Mitigating risk within the store, identifying and resolving gaps or roadblocks to profitability, and protecting assets.
  • Ensuring the right people are in the right positions at the right time and in the right quantities.
  • Sourcing and selecting talent to build the necessary infrastructure for business growth.
  • Successfully integrating and onboarding new talent.
  • Building healthy relationships with people and establishing a positive and engaging work environment.
  • Continually developing the team for succession within the organization.
  • Setting expectations and managing team performance to meet revenue and profitability goals.
  • Conducting regular assessments of people against performance review criteria and KPIs.
  • Leading by example to ensure the quality of the in-store customer experience through communication, training, and upholding service expectations, including product demonstrations.
  • Providing in-store feedback and coaching to staff and the Assistant Store Manager to build skills and confidence in customer service and product knowledge.
  • Identifying opportunities to build and maintain relationships within local communities to drive brand awareness.
  • Representing the brand professionally both inside and outside the company.
  • Driving the culture and values of the organization in all aspects of the business.
  • Supporting and executing visual merchandising guidelines throughout the store.
  • Building brand loyalty through the membership program and driving future business.
  • Identifying opportunities for marketing initiatives to drive new and repeat clients and community engagement at the store level.
  • Ensuring operational, brand, and product standards are met daily and that teams are clear on expectations and roles.
  • Identifying and escalating opportunities, gaps, risks, and roadblocks with urgency, and partnering with cross-functional teams to resolve them.
  • Ensuring standard operational policies and procedures are followed, including health & safety, store maintenance, cleaning & replenishment, inventory management, and cash systems.
  • Building optimal schedules for the store and team to meet customer expectations and sales targets efficiently and effectively.
