About The Position

Muse Paintbar is a guided painting experience with 26 studios across the East Coast. We offer a unique blend of art, entertainment, and social interaction, where customers can enjoy a night out while creating their own masterpiece. We are not a gallery or a classroom, but a fun, engaging environment that happens to involve a paintbrush. We are looking for a Store Manager who is a strong leader, adept at managing teams, resolving issues, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for both customers and staff. The ideal candidate is comfortable with acrylic painting, enjoys dynamic environments, and thrives in a role where no two nights are the same.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of full-time management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in art, business, marketing, finance, or a related field, or equivalent management experience.
  • Experience in the arts and comfort painting with acrylics.
  • Experience in a customer-facing environment (e.g., bar, restaurant).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sales, service, and leadership instincts.
  • Comfortable using Google Workspace, Slack, and studio tech.
  • Full-time flexible availability on-site, including regular weekends and evenings.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel up to 20% monthly.
  • Must be 21 or older.
  • TIPS and ServSafe Manager certification (training and payment provided if not certified).
  • Ability to stand for long stretches.
  • Ability to step onto and off of elevated surfaces frequently.
  • Ability to perform frequent bending, reaching, moving, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to move through the studio quickly and safely, including tight spaces and raised surfaces.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with music and large groups.
  • Ability to work extended periods sitting and working on a computer.
  • Reliable internet, phone, and laptop for remote work when needed.
  • A quiet, well-lit space for remote work when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Run the studio, overseeing daily operations, team management, customer experience, and sales.
  • Teach painting sessions with clear, step-by-step instructions.
  • Prep and run private events and parties, from setup to breakdown.
  • Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring food safety and quality standards.
  • Drive sales through effective guest interaction and team guidance.
  • Maintain studio cleanliness, organization, and marketing display standards.
  • Review applications, conduct interviews and paint auditions, and train new hires.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to team members.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with team members to discuss performance and development.
  • Track team performance and conduct reviews in partnership with the Regional Manager and HR.
  • Build and maintain monthly staff schedules, ensuring consistent coverage.
  • Review and approve time-off requests and escalate staffing needs.
  • Review and verify timecards daily, and submit them weekly.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with the Regional Manager on sales, staffing, operations, and inventory.
  • Submit accurate inventory counts and orders, and process weekly deliveries.
  • Handle in-studio customer complaints professionally and escalate complex issues.
  • Enforce alcohol service, safety, and cash handling procedures.
  • Submit maintenance and facility tickets as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Manager on feedback for development and advancement.
