About The Position

Lush is hiring a Store Manager for its North Park Center location. The Store Manager leads the shop in line with Lush’s core values and oversees the retail business, including budgets, sales goals, customer and staff experience, and operational excellence. The role includes recruiting, training, and developing the management team and wider team, while continually assessing personal performance and seeking feedback and development opportunities. The Store Manager works with the team to deliver an inclusive customer experience, communicate Lush’s brand values, build product knowledge, and execute business plans that improve key performance indicators and meet sales goals. They develop staff through coaching, feedback, and career-development planning; foster diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging; and handle performance matters with empathy and appropriate action plans. The role also ensures compliance with company policies and procedures, manages inventory and waste within budget, executes merchandising plans, maintains a clean and beautiful shop, and schedules staffing and breaks to support shop performance, staff wellbeing, and payroll accuracy. The position requires flexible availability, including holidays, evenings, and weekends.

Requirements

3–5 years managing in a retail environment.
Strong human resources skills in hiring, scheduling, training, conflict resolution, and performance management.
Excellent listening and communication skills.
Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent organization and time-management skills.
Strong customer-service, supervisory, and sales skills.
Knowledge of and interest in skincare, natural beauty, and ethical business.
Ability to work flexible hours to meet shop needs, including holidays, evenings, and weekends.

Nice To Haves

Experience with consultation-based customer-service models.
Ability to develop and train staff through positive coaching and feedback.
Strong record of developing retail staff careers.
Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Suite, and adaptability to other systems as required.
Experience in cross-cultural collaboration and DEIB or social-justice training.
Fluency in Spanish, French, or other languages.

Responsibilities

Recruit the store team and build a diverse mix of styles, perspectives, and experience using transparent and equitable hiring and promotion practices.
Train and develop the management team and staff on the brand, products, and service.
Collaborate with the team on plans to exceed daily sales goals and provide an inclusive customer experience.
Educate customers and staff about Lush’s brand values and communicate its positions on Fighting Animal Testing, Freshest Cosmetics, Ethical Buying, 100% Vegetarian, Handmade, and Naked Packaging.
Build product knowledge and make informed product recommendations.
Use metrics and reports to develop and execute business plans aligned with the American business strategy, improving KPIs and achieving short- and long-term sales goals.
Coach and develop staff through development plans, learning tools, constructive feedback, and coaching behaviors as they arise.
Prioritize diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives and collaborate with the team on solutions that promote equity and belonging.
Address performance concerns using analysis, experience, and perspective; create staff-engagement action plans and consider employees’ personal situations with empathy.
Ensure shop compliance with company standards for time and attendance, breaks and meals, product integrity, respectful workplace, anti-harassment and anti-discrimination, health and safety, and daily communication, within budget.
Train the team on stock standards and rotation rules; manage ordering and use inventory reporting tools to control stock and waste within the allocated budget.
Create and execute merchandising plans, uphold visual and design standards, and maintain a clean and beautiful work environment.
Schedule appropriate staffing and skill levels for peak times, allocate and record breaks and meals, and stay within the labor budget.
Assess personal performance and seek feedback, resources, and opportunities for growth and development.
