About The Position

Beyond Yoga is seeking a temporary Store Manager for its NYC Pop-Up store, operating from August to January. This role involves leading the retail team to achieve sales goals and financial plans, fostering employee engagement, and creating a collaborative selling environment. The Store Manager will be responsible for assessing and strategizing to improve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Conversion, Units Per Transaction, and Sales Per Hour, utilizing company tools and resources to identify opportunities and celebrate successes. Additionally, the role includes managing all aspects of store personnel, including recruitment, hiring, pay, and termination decisions, as well as handling employee relations, coaching, and conflict resolution. The Store Manager will also oversee onboarding and training, ensuring associates are knowledgeable about Beyond Yoga's culture, products, and selling techniques, and will develop succession plans for associates. The position requires maintaining in-store experience and operations by achieving payroll plans, managing schedules and labor costs, ensuring sound inventory management, preventing loss, and upholding visual merchandising standards to create a compelling customer experience. The Store Manager will also build relationships, embrace individuality, foster diversity and inclusion, and act as a brand ambassador embodying the company's core values.

Requirements

  • Progressive retail leadership experience.
  • Proven skills in supervising, coaching, and training.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
  • Ability to perform all essential job functions.
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of the job the employee may be required to stand, walk, kneel, squat, crouch, bend, stoop, talk and hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, to type, reach overhead, and climb ladders.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the retail team in achieving daily/weekly/monthly sales goals and meeting store financial plans.
  • Assesses and strategizes to drive performance goals (Conversion, Units Per Transaction, Sales Per Hour, and other measurable KPIs).
  • Recruits, hires, determines pay, and makes termination decisions for all levels of store personnel.
  • Manages employee relations issues, including coaching and conflict resolution.
  • Ensures all associates follow Beyond Yoga and LS&CO Operational Excellence policies and procedures.
  • Facilitates onboarding and training processes for new hires on Beyond Yoga culture, product knowledge, and selling culture.
  • Coaches staff to increase their knowledge and provides opportunities for continued development.
  • Creates succession plans for developing associates for promotion.
  • Achieves payroll plan through managing store schedules and monitoring labor costs.
  • Ensures sound inventory management through accurate receiving and sending merchandise processes.
  • Completes required business directives such as price change and ticketing procedures.
  • Prevents loss by educating associates on customer service and monitoring daily store activity.
  • Performs store visual standards following visual merchandising direction.
  • Ensures product is displayed in a manner that tells a story and is compelling to the customer.
  • Maintains appropriate levels of product on the sales floor by planning and directing floor replenishment.
  • Creates a compelling store experience for customers by engaging and modeling appropriate selling and service behaviors.
  • Builds relationships naturally, embraces individuality, and fosters a culture of diversity and inclusion.
  • Collaborates with store team and Home Office partners on building connections with the local community and executing events.
  • Acts as a brand ambassador embodying and cultivating the company’s core values.
