About The Position

This role is for a Store Manager/Optician in a retail setting. The primary responsibilities include leading and supporting the store team to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve store goals. The manager will oversee daily operations such as sales, customer service, inventory, and administrative tasks. A key aspect of the role is creating a welcoming and professional store environment. The manager will also handle customer concerns, coach and train team members, and ensure high standards of service and sales performance. Additionally, the role requires ensuring the efficient and accurate creation of eyewear products, utilizing optical expertise for adjustments and assembly, and supporting the District Manager to ensure the store aligns with company standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) required.
  • ABO Certification required.
  • 1+ year of retail Store Management experience.
  • 2+ years of experience as an Optician in a retail store or optometrist’s office.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with eyewear fitting, adjustments, and assembly.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to train, support, and motivate team members while leading by example.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required to operate the store.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Opticianry or some postsecondary education preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the store team in delivering exceptional customer service and achieving store goals.
  • Oversee day-to-day store operations, including sales, customer service, inventory, and other administrative activities.
  • Create a warm, vibrant, and professional store environment where customers and team members feel welcomed and supported.
  • Handle customer concerns and complaints with honesty, integrity, and a prompt, friendly approach.
  • Coach, train, and support team members while leading by example and promoting a strong work ethic.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the Assistant Store Manager and team to improve customer service, store operations, and sales performance.
  • Drive team commitment to high standards of service and help exceed customer expectations.
  • Ensure eyewear products are created with speed, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Use your optical expertise to adjust, fit, and assemble eyeglasses according to each customer’s needs and preferences.
  • Support the District Manager and ensure the store consistently reflects the company’s standards and objectives.
