About The Position

Meijer offers an 11-week Store Experience internship for college students currently enrolled in an academic degree program and considering a future career in retail. The internship provides a well-rounded retail education and the opportunity to lead a project that affects the customer or Team Member experience. Interns may also gain exposure to Store Operations, Store Support, Training, and Store Fulfillment. The program includes challenging projects, final presentations to senior executives, an executive speaker series, professional development and training, networking and community events, and events highlighting key areas of the business. It is designed to help interns build research, leadership, training, and presentation skills and gain a clear understanding of store experience operations. Possible career paths include Store Training Specialist, Store Support Specialist, and Digital Analytics Store Specialist.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in an academic degree program.
Progress toward a bachelor's degree in Management, Operations, Education, or a related field.
Passion for retail or customer service and a desire to pursue a career supporting retail stores.
Drive for results, with an action-oriented approach and focus on the financial impact of projects.
Customer focus and dedication to meeting internal and external customer expectations.
Digital mindset, including experience with digital devices, applications, and analytics to access and manage information.
Relationship skills to build positive working relationships with team members, leadership, and internal and external constituencies.
Communication skills to convey appropriate information in writing and verbally.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in retail, customer service, or learning and development is strongly preferred.
Past leadership responsibilities in work or extracurricular activities are preferred.

Responsibilities
