Full Time Store Detective Nights and Weekends

About The Position

The Store Detective helps ensure a safe and secure environment for customers, team members, and vendors. The role investigates internal and external theft, including Organized Retail Crime activity, and focuses on proactive and preventive Asset Protection and safety practices that support continuous improvement and profitability. The position is identified as full time and involves nights and weekends.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
At least 6 months of experience in security or at least 1 year of work experience.

Responsibilities

Visually inspect the building exterior and parking lot to identify potential hazards and ensure they are mitigated.
Conduct walking inspections of the backroom and sales floor.
Review cashier exception reports.
Conduct internal theft surveillance.
Review theft activity reports and follow up as necessary.
Conduct shoplifting surveillance.
Report safety hazards to Store Leadership so they can be addressed.
Test and inspect camera equipment to ensure it operates effectively.
Review the alarm system printer for suspicious activity.
Participate in apprehending people who violate the law and assist with prosecution of external theft cases.
Complete documentation and reports, ensuring incident history includes pertinent facts that may be required for litigation.
Testify in criminal or civil court proceedings.
Adhere to safety practices, principles, guidelines, and policies.
Practice 200% safety accountability.
Perform other duties as required.
