About The Position

The Store Custodian helps create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers, donors, and associates at Goodwill Southeast Georgia retail locations. The role maintains the cleanliness and appearance of the store, supporting the customer experience and Goodwill’s mission services. The custodian also follows company safety policies and procedures and maintains janitorial equipment and supply levels.

Requirements

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Knowledge of basic cleaning methods, tools, and equipment.
Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate positively and professionally with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
Dependable work ethic and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

Six months of custodial or janitorial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide a consistent, high-quality cleaning experience throughout the store.
Sweep and mop floors and sanitize restrooms.
Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators in break rooms.
Restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
Empty trash receptacles, replace liners, and clean containers as needed.
Dust and clean dressing rooms, store fixtures, office desks, furniture, and common surfaces.
Clean windowsills and interior windows.
Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe, and operable condition.
Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and paper products and restock assigned areas as needed.
Demonstrate proper safety practices and ensure departmental standards are maintained.
Participate in Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives by following company policies and procedures.
