About The Position

The Store Cleaning Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store environment, with an emphasis on floor care. The role includes operating floor-cleaning equipment and performing cleaning throughout the store, while adhering to operational, merchandising, health and safety, and loss prevention standards. Associates are cross-trained in multiple store areas and help meet business needs, including Front End coverage. They model positive customer experience practices and support a respectful, safe, and positive store culture.

Requirements

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.
• Ability to multitask and respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to listen and respond appropriately.
• Ability to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.
• Retail customer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including operating and maintaining the scrubber and buffer.
• Dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms.
• Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms, and Front End.
• Cross-train in other store areas, including the Backroom, Front End, and Sales Floor.
• Support and respond to Front End coverage needs.
• Follow the merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Follow operational and loss-prevention controls and company policies, including shrink-reduction practices.
• Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
• Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break-period policies.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers and support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
