About The Position

The Store Cleaning Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor-care equipment and completing cleaning tasks throughout the store, while upholding operational, merchandising, health and safety, and loss-prevention standards. Associates are cross-trained in multiple store areas and help support business needs, including Front End coverage. The associate models established customer-service practices and contributes to a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect. The position also requires effective communication with management and colleagues, attention to safety, and compliance with company policies, labor laws, and meal and break procedures. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Excellent customer-service skills.
Able to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.
Able to multitask and respond appropriately to changing directions or unexpected situations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including listening and responding appropriately.
Able to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
Able to work effectively with peers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including operating and maintaining the scrubber and buffer.
Dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms.
Refill essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms, and Front End in accordance with health and safety policies.
Cross-train and work in other areas of the store, including the Backroom, Front End, and Sales Floor.
Support and respond to Front End coverage needs.
Uphold the merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
Follow operational and loss-prevention controls and company guidelines, including shrink-reduction practices.
Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break-period policies.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Model customer-experience practices with internal and external customers and support a positive store culture.
Perform other duties as assigned.
